SINCE 1978

The first Montezuma’s restaurant opened at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland in 1978 and enjoyed great success from the very start! Relying on word-of-mouth advertising from satisfied local customers, business increased steadily and word spread far and wide that Montezuma’s provides the fresh taste of Mexico while offering great value for money in a casual, friendly and relaxed environment.

STARTING THE FRANCHISE

In 1991, following the success of Montezuma’s Burleigh Heads, it became clear the best way to share the Montezuma’s experience across the country and around the world was to start a franchise company and Montezuma’s Mesa Australia Pty Ltd was founded. Since then many new Montezuma’s franchised restaurants have brought great tasting fresh Mexican food to different parts of Australia from Queensland all the way to Victoria.
